Volumes attached to pre-empted spot instances being deleted

I am seeing a recurring issue where volumes that were attached to spot instances are being deleted instead of detached when the spot instances are lost/pre-empted. This does not occur when I hibernate the instances.

Has the issue reoccurred? We couldn’t find your Instance IDs so there was not much that we could do. It’d be great if you could double-check.

Are you using a public API by any chance?
